SV uses a trenchless technology for the replacement of a strategic water main

The used technology allowed the repair of the failure that occurred on pipes with big diameter passing under the route of Peyo Yavorov Blvd, which have been seriously corroded. Thus, in close coordination with Sofia Municipality, water supply interruption and closing of one of the main boulevards in Sofia were avoided.

SV used a trenchless technology for the replacement of the two pipes of the trunk water main supplying Lozenets Reservoir.

Both pipes are with diameter 900 mm and were laid in 1929 and 1953.

The used trenchless technology Cured-in-place pipe includes insertion of a material impregnated with the epoxy resin inside the pipe. The material adheres tightly to the inner part of the damaged pipes, which preliminary is cleaned until reaching a flat surface. In fact after the gluing along the pipe, a new pipe is formed inside, whose service life is more than 50 years. The WSS specialists call this technology informally a sleeve or sock because of the visual resemblance when lying and expanding the material.

SV, part of Veolia Group, applies trenchless technologies at investment sites so that it reduces the inconveniences for the residents of the capital and does not destroy the road covers, as well as when executing works at areas, where other construction methods are not possible.
