Sofiyska Voda announced the start of the scholarship program 2015 for students in the University for Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy

For a second consecutive year Sofiyska Voda, part of the international leader in WSS services and efficient and environmentally sustainable energy technologies and waste processing Veolia launched its scholarship program for academic year 2015-2016.

For a second consecutive year Sofiyska Voda, part of the international leader in WSS services and efficient and environmentally sustainable energy technologies and waste processing Veolia launched its scholarship program for academic year 2015-2016. 

The motivation program for the future WSS engineers debuted last year and is targeted at the students in the Faculty of Hydraulic Engineering (FHE) to the UACEG.

It is used to identify the most ambitious future specialists in the field of engineering services and WSS. The main objective of the program is to encourage and stimulate students from the Faculty of Hydraulic Engineering (FHE) to the UACEG to start their career advancement by putting into practice their good ideas.

‘It was a real pleasure to take part in the program and to realize my ideas. I am grateful for the opportunity to become part of a team of true professionals and be invited to work in the wastewater treatment plant in Kubratovo. I am a person with permanent interest in the field and Veolia scholarship program not only helped me learn more and put into practice my knowledge, but also gave me the chance to start my career’ said Tanya Ignatova - the first scholar - who after the successfully implemented project was appointed to a permanent position in the company.  

Sofiyska Voda supports and encourages qualified and ambitious young people by investing in their future. It is also one of the reasons why for more than 14 years the company implements also the internship program Challenge the Future that attracts more than 800 applicants and on average 30 of them join the team of the company during the summer months. Some of them receive also job offers after completing their internships.

The approach to give more opportunities to young specialist was materialized by SV also with the established in 2014 annual scholarship Veolia.  

Eligible to apply for the scholarship is any full-time student or a team of full-time students at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, who have completed their fourth or fifth year of study. Any applicant or team should submit their idea for development and implementation of a specific project in the field of potable water or wastewater treatment, water supply and sewerage, hydraulic modelling or another aspect of the activity of Sofiyska Voda JSC, which could improve the company’s efficiency in the respective field. What is different about the project is that the approved applicants will have the opportunity not only to give a good idea, but will also have the chance to actually implement it in the company in 2016 under the mentorship of a specialist from Sofiyska Voda JSC.
